Indian Institute of Technology, Mandi – Cutoffs for 2015

The JEE 2015 Seat Allocation process for the IITs (Indian Institutes of Technology) is finally over and most of the IITs have begun their academic year. So, let us now take a look at the cutoffs/closing ranks in 2015 for the different IITs. Do note that only candidates who secured a rank among the top one and a half lakh aspirants who appeared for the JEE Main 2015 were eligible to appear for the JEE Advanced examination 2015. Candidates were finally selected to the IITs/ISM Dhanbad purely on the basis of their performance in the JEE Advanced 2015. This was also the first time that the IITs and ISM Dhanbad were a part of the Joint Seat Allocation Process that involved other reputed institutions like the NITs, IIITs, Other GFTIs (Government Funded Technical Institutes).

In this article, let us take a look at the cutoffs/closing ranks for the Indian Institute of Technology, Mandi.

IIT Mandi came into being in 2008 following the The Institutes of Technology (Amendment) Act, 2011 and began its functions out of the transit campus at Government Post graduate College, Mandi. The historic town Mandi is 12 km away.

The location for the permanent campus is the forested hills of Kamand on the banks of the Uhl, a tributary of River Beas. The laying of the foundation stone at Kamand took place on 24 February 2009. IIT Mandi is the first of the new IITs to use its own campus. The permanent campus is set in 565 acres of pristine land. There are plans to make a 2 MW SHP station to utilise the water resources of the nala which flows through the campus.

This institute at the undergraduate level (B. E. / B. Tech.), offers degrees in 3 different branches. Selections to these seats was done on the basis of a student’s All India Rank in the JEE Advanced 2015.
