Below is the first of two articles, put together by the PaGaLGuY team on the numbers of seats and fee structure in the top 25 schools (according to the PaGaLGuY b-school rankings 2012) and all the Indian Institutes of Management.

This one in on the IIMs. Amongst the major changes, IIM Kozhikode and IIM Kashipur have increased seats for the 2013-15 batch. IIM Kashipur has doubled its intake from 42 to 90 for the next academic session. IIM Kozhikode will now admit 375 students to the institute.

Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Ahmedabad-

The institute increased its fees structure by 5.4% for the 2011-13 batch and 7.2% for the 2012-14 batch. In conversation with this online magazine, the spokesperson for the institute said that they have continued the trend and have increased the fee by 7.1% to Rs 16,60,000. The decision will be communicated to the aspirants through their admission letters.

Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Bangalore –

Due to major infrastructural changes, IIM Bangalore increased its fees structure by 15% for the academic year 2012-14. According to the institute spokesperson, aspirants can expect an increase in the fees structure for the next academic year as well. However, the decision will be made public only by the third week of March.

Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Calcutta –

The institute has not increased its fees for the past two academic years. However, the decision regarding the final fees structure for the year 2013-15 is pending. The final decision should be made public by April.

In all (excluding IIM Bangalore), the IIMs offer a total of 2883 seats for the batch of 2013-15.

Of these, 1427 seats are reserved (49.5%). The percentage of reserved seats remains the same as last year – for NC/OBC it is 27% (778 seats), for SC it is 15% (433 seats) and for ST it is 7.5% (216 seats).
