IIM Ranchi
Close on the heels of Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Trichy, IIM Ranchi has also released its summer placement report for the Post Graduate Diploma in Management (PGDM) and Post Graduate Diploma in Human Resource Management (PGDHRM) batch of 2012-14. Out of a total of 154 (PGDM-113, PGDHRM-41) students, 4 students of the PGDM program decided to opt out. Two students wanted to intern with their family businesses, whereas the other two opted for internships in the social sector, according to the information made available by the institute. The institute did not reveal where the latter two got internships as the candidates wanted to maintain confidentiality.
Function-wise drill down (PGDM and PGDHRM combined) (Function Wise Nos are over the last three years)
As has been the trend with most institutes, Sales/ Marketing was the leading function this year hiring 31% of the batch. HR had the next best numbers with 27% batch opting for roles in this function (This figure is high owing to the fact that it is the consolidated placement report of the PGDM and PGDHRM batches). Finance function hired 22% of the batch.
The Marketing function saw Biocon offering roles in International Marketing and Branding. Britannia and Reckitt Benckiser hired for roles in Trade Marketing. In the Finance function, HSBC and JP Morgan offered roles in IB Research. Yes Bank offered a role in Corporate Banking whereas Kotak Mahindra offered roles in Treasury. The new PGDHRM batch got HR profiles from Kotak Mahindra which offered Diversity Management and Talent Management roles; Sanofi Aventis which came for Organisational Design and Change and Strategic Staffing roles; RPG which hired for Industrial Relations and Berger Paints which offered profiles in Talent Management. Consulting roles were offered by Index Advisory, PwC and Heidrick and Struggles in the areas of Strategy Consulting, IT Consulting and Leadership Consulting respectively.
