Summer placements for the PGP class of 2010-12 at the Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Kozhikode yielded 360 offers from a total of 125 companies. Following the trend at other campuses until now, the two largest chunks of internships were in the Finance and Sales/Marketing functions.
IIM Kozhikode followed a rolling process for the summer placements that stretched for about a month, said Placements Committee member Chirantan Shah. Although the batch size was 323, the number of students who availed of an internship through the institute’s process was 308. The remaining 15 signed out or landed up an internship through their own networks.
Although 130 companies participated, 125 could make offers. Eventually, offers at 118 companies were accepted.

A quarter of the batch of 2010-12 at IIM Kozhikode will intern in Sales and Marketing roles, while 22% will intern in Finance roles. 20% of the batch landed internships in Consulting roles.
Hindustan Unilever, P&G;, Deutsche Bank, Citi, HSBC, ITC, Deloitte, Pricewaterhouse Coopers, Arthur D Little, JPMorgan Chase, Colgate-Palmolive, Johnson & Johnson, PepsiCo and Standard Chartered Bank were some of the global behemoths to recruit summer interns from the campus.
