The Indian Institute of Management, Indore (IIM Indore) saw a significant increase in stipend offers during the recently completed summer placement process for its MBA class 2022-24, with the average stipend increasing by 37% to Rs 2.74 lakh, the median stipend increasing by 35%, and the highest stipend increasing by 50% to Rs 6 lakh. The summer placement programme drew 606 students from the two-year Post-Graduate Programme (PGP) and the five-year Integrated Programme in Management (IPM).
Compared to the previous year, more than 140 companies offered summer internships this year. The placement season included companies such as Adani Group, Amway, Apollo Tyres, AstraZeneca, Bharat Serums and Vaccines, Big Basket, Citigroup, CK Birla Group, DCM Shriram, Disney Star, Fidelity Investments, GE Healthcare, General Mills, Godrej Properties Limited, Haleon, HDFC Bank, IDFC First Bank, Indigo Edge, Info Edge, International Finance Corporation, JM Financial, and others.
According to IIM Indore, 25% of offers were for consultancy roles, 16% were for financial employment, 23% were for sales and marketing, 15% were for IT, analytics, and product management, and 21% were for general management, leadership, operations, and human resources. “The Consulting industry received the most offers, accounting for 25% of the total, followed by the Banking, Financial Services, and Insurance (BFSI) and Technology, Media, and Telecommunications (TMT) sectors, each attracting 22% of the students. 10% of the students were placed in the consumer goods business. Conglomerates, construction, real estate, e-commerce, healthcare, logistics, and manufacturing round out the list of significant fields in which students will intern, “According to the statement.
