The books, which include titles from authors such as Hamdy A. Taha, Philip Kotler, Stephen P. Robbins and Kenneth E. Kendall will be distributed in the institute library basement on Saturday, September 19, 2009 from 2 pm to 6 pm. The books will be available to any student pursuing a two year post graduate management program in Indore. Only one copy per title will be allowed so that every student gets a fair chance to avail the opportunity. The students will have to show their college identity cards as a proof that they indeed belong to management schools.
According to Aamal Mishra, a second year management student at IIM Indore and head of ‘Pragat-I’, most of the IIM I PGP students leave behind many management related books when they graduate from the institute. He says, “The books just pile up in the college without solving any purpose.” Thus, Mishra and the community members of ‘Pragat-I’ decided to give away the books to management students in Indore, as according to them, there are many management institutes in Indore and some of their students might not be able to afford the many expensive books on management studies. Also, Mishra adds, “This activity will act as a platform for students to serve the society, especially their fellow student community.”
