Indian Institute of Information Technology, Jabalpur (IIITD&M)
The Indian Institute of Information Technology-Design and Manufacturing, was
established in year 2005. Primary goal of the institute is to educate and train
engineers who are dealing with design and manufacturing of engineering goods. The institute started functioning from the
Jabalpur Engineering College’s campus in 2005 until its permanent campus was
constructed. The Institute is on a campus of 260 acres close to the
Domestic Airport.
Construction of the lab Complex and Hostels started
thereafter and was completed in June 2009, the Institute was granted Deemed-to-be University
status that month. The campus also includes three hostels while several Hall of
Residences are still under construction. The Institute is being developed under
the IIIT D&M Jabalpur – Japan collaboration partnership which focuses on
using Information Technology to implement Design and Manufacturing.
Studying at IIITD&M Jabalpur
The institute offers undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral level degrees in Computer
Science and Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering and Mechanical Engineering. It also offers a unique Liberal
Design Program which offers a Master of Design degree.
More than just studies
The students have been
organizing annual cultural festival Tarang
and Abhikalpan the Technical
festival. Gusto is the annual Sports festival held by the institute.
