Indian Institute of Foreign Trade (IIFT) has concluded summer placements for the class of 2010. The average domestic stipend secured by the 168 students from the Delhi and Kolkata campuses was Rs 35,400. An FMCG company offered the highest stipend which amounted to Rs 1 lakh. A total of 54 companies participated in the recruitments process.
Companies such as Colgate Palmolive, Arthur Da Little, ITC, Essar Group, ICICI Bank, Axis Bank, Cognizant Business Consulting, UBS, Tata Motors, Cargill, Avalon Consulting came for summer placements at IIFT and offered job profiles across domains such as corporate finance, strategy and sales and marketing. It should be noted that this does not imply that these companies recuited IIFT students for summer projects. IT companies such as Wipro and IBM also participated in the summer placements process.
Firms which recruited from IIFT for the first time were Coca Cola, Mahindra & Mahindra, Johnson & Johnson, Perfetti Van Melle, Reckitt Benckinser, Ambuja Realty, Xerox, Colliers International, Louis Dreyfus, Motorola, Sab Miller and GlaxoSmithKline. Emergent Ventures offered profiles in carbon credits consulting while Colliers International provided offers in infrastructure consulting.
