What are the top challenges that you are currently working to solve for your institute this year?
During the last three years we have suffered a slide in our brand awareness. The top most challenge is to be able to reach out to the right candidate and be able to communicate the right message. Reliance is being placed on all kinds of media to raise the awareness.
What according to you have been the most significant progress your institute has made in the last one year?
We have restructured the syllabus and made it more industry friendly. Established contacts with around thirty companies who would participate in the admission process to confirm industry associate-ship right in the beginning itself. Established international student and faculty exchange programs with over 100 institutions around the world through a global network of distinguished B-schools.
What are the qualities you look for in an applicant when shortlisting for your final selection?
– Attitude
– Passionate desire to learn, practice and grow.
– Basic intellectual capability
What according to you is the one progressive change that you would like to see in the management education scenario in the country today?
Management education must be removed from the “TECHNICAL EDUCATION’ Category. It must be treated as the Social Science/ Humanities subject like in all other countries. Management relates more to people than to machines.
There shall be only one degree ie MBA not PG Diploma. One year MBA programmes must be introduced with added admission criteria such work experience etc.
Institutions must have complete freedom to revise syllabus / curriculum. Diversity of the socio-economic scenario of the country must be respected and strengthened.
