Some of us fear it because of we feel we have a poor command on language. Good command over the language does plays a vital role but knowledge and honesty are the key factors on which the entire game is based.
Some tips that can help you in cracking GD:
Ask your GD/PI queries to IFIM Faculty
1) Most of the institutes look for leadership skills, managerial skills like interpersonal skills. Leadership, analytical and rational thinking, knowledge and good personality are traits sought after in a candidate.
2) Innovation, creativity, adaptability is important in GD.
3) Learn to take a stand in individual & group level.
4) Fluency, tone and articulation are important in your speech.
5) Do not underestimate the importance of honing your listening skills. Listen carefully to what others are saying..
6) Sometimes in a GD the group may be given a case study and asked to come out with a solution to a problem. Be aware of all possible scenarios related to group discussions.
7) Speak sense. Do not say something just for the sake of it but think through and have valid counterpoints.
8) Try building a consensus in the group.
Some tips for cracking personal interview:
1) Most asked question: Why this college/course? Be sure you know the answer to this.
2) Do your research about the institute/students/faculty before interview.
3) Do practice your interview.
4) Read newspaper daily, subscribe to news apps.
5) Be honest.
6) Read biographies of businessmen and people you aspire towards.
Essay questions:
Well, general idea behind essay writing is to test candidate’s ability to organize an essay as per the word limit, structure it into paragraphs, and make it worth reading within the given time frame. Focus should definitely be on time limit provided. Write as fast as u can, don’t waste time in thinking too much but focus on writing whatever comes to your mind at the time. For this, the only tip is to practice. Pick a current topic every day and write on it as much as u can with in 10 minutes. Consideration should be made in putting as many important points as possible instead of using flashy words and phrases. Also, focus on accuracy of spelling and grammar.
