Happy 2014 with some Cool Advice from our Writers – Enjoy!

Channels has been host to an assortment of articles ever since it launched last September. We’ve seen some good-reads, a big bunch of self-promoting articles and some just ‘advisory’ ones. The last category has been the funniest.

Let’s look at some of the brightest ‘pearls of wisdom’ churned out in 2013.

*We’ve had an overdose of ‘self-motivation’ articles, most reading like a desperate Satre attempts. One writer wrote:

We need to face the future unprepared because when we start preparing for it, we end up … ending up nowhere…

Sure, but is preparing for the future not the most oft-heard advice globally!

*There were the bad versus good articles too. One warned:

You cannot be too good as people may exploit you and also you cannot be too bad either. Being too selfish is wrong and too benevolent is foolishness.

So how does on stay good and bad and selfish and benevolent all at the same time?

*An article on New Year resolutions stood out because it was less about resolutions and more about pain and its after-effects. It read:

Even if you are the luckiest guy, success…in the first chance is impossible. There will be many instances of failures…

Weren’t New Year resolutions articles about promising to hit the gym and never going there!

*There was an interesting article on a tomato vendor – a sprightly young man. But what got the piece a bit messed up was this observation by the writer.

Chhuttan was such an expert ( at playing dice). His wrist movement was so perfect he could have been a spin bowler for India if only he was discovered by a BCCI selector.

A practical approach would have helped. BCCI has its own problems

*The Believe in yourself articles were most amusing. One read:

Considering yourself means having the audacity to do something, if you don’t have the courage to do something you basically won’t have the courage to do anything.

Confused.

*The Dreams articles were fun to read, sometimes quizzical too.

I have got the DREAMERS disease..I know dreams are fake..But not the one which our heart and mind would chase together…

The dreamer’s disease was funny enough, the heart and mind bits not needed.

*Another article on dreams – this one more adamant in nature.

No matter somebody thinks I’m disgusting to dream heaven a lot of stuff. I love my dreams and I won’t ever stop dreaming. I have never put condition s on them.

*Dreams are a favourite with our authors. This writer writes –

Dream should listen too!!!! dream till your dream become true, dream…….they should listen too.

Does anyone know who the dreams should listen to?

*Some articles were meant to be on love –

But Where Is The Expression Love?? In This Whole Thing No One Dared To Express Their Love.. Now The Question Arises Why None Of The Person Expressed Their Love??

A prize for anyone who can make sense of the above.
