GD- should begging be legal?
A very well structured GD in which we covered the pros and cons. Ranked them. Suggested a few solutions. I pitched in with the points that a lot of disadvantaged people are helped in this case. Job creation is not an easy task,this kind of provides a temporary refuge. Also,making it legal would mean curbing the work culture. A big impact on the tourism industry. Orgained mafia exploiting children,women and so on. A very cordial GD. I think i did fair enough.

Q1- What are your hobbies?
A1- I emphasised on reading as my main hobby (novels, magazines, quora, pro public)
Q2- According to us, reading is not a hobby? Why do you think so?
A2- Anything for which you take out time, and it gives you pleasure (bliss) is hobby for me. I exercise to remain fit, but reading is something I do for the bliss associated with it.(they were not agreeing, but since it is what I believed in, I made sure I don’t change my stance).
Q3- There seems to be anger in your answers? A dismissive tone?
A3- No that is not the case. At times, I may, but always I don’t think so. (they said have I ever been pointed the same, but in MDI they said my voice is a bit ‘mechanical in nature’. My voice!!!!!)
Q4- what are the weaknesses you have?
A4- Told ( won’t be mentioning as this is something one must be aware of)
Q5( The interesting part) Any recent editorial which you read which made you think/impacted you?
A5 The economist has a special magazine called “1843”. There was an article on how polygamy is not wrong. So, this opened up avenues of an ethical dilemma which revolved around the contours of formal and casual relationships (this was a 5 minute dialogue between me and them). This also brought in UCC into play. I will not be explicitly mentioning what I told them, but knew my stance was not on the wrong lines.
Q6 Now consider you are an HR manager, you would impose your views, and then it is wrong for the work place?
A6 I will perform my professional duties and never allow my personal opinion to mix with professional. I am there to make an impact on professional lives, not personal.
* I don’t remember but something related to Trump came in. It had to do with the questionnaire I guess, but again it was a personal opinion which the urban voter despises(fair enough hint)*
Q7- Since you just said begging should be illegal, but it seems you have a different view?
A7- Sir, that was my professional duty. This is what I believe ( job creation is not easy and the disadvantaged deserve better)The interviewers said in Hindi “fresher hn”. Thank God, no acads uptill now.
Q8- How do you rate your confidence?
A8- It has improved over the years. Have been working on it.
Q9- Are you overconfident?
A9- Not at all.
Q10 Why should we select you?
A10-Had three reasons in mind (again everyone would be aware of why should they be selected. A right mix of analytical and interpersonal skills).
Q11 What is unique about you?
A11 I guess most candidates are good with acads and fixated with the numbers, where as I truly believe I want to make an impact on culture and lives more than the product because at the end of the day human relationships matter more than the numbers one billed in. I want to give back to the society.
Q12- So up till now have you not tried?
A12- Told them what i have done as an individual and some other views.
This went for about 15 minutes. I don’t remember each word but this is the broad outline*
As I wasn’t asked anything more, A sir said I should read why polygamy is deterrent to adultery and the economic benefits (a polar view. Now, you guys can discern what I would have said. I simply replied I haven’t read that much and I will look into it. Also, I said I am young. My opinions will change as I interact with more individuals.
So, I guess I faired okay in both GDPI but owing to my low percentile and no work ex, not very hopeful. Guys, please share your views if you like. Hope it helps.
