Its good news for candidates who haven’t applied for the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering 2020. Previously the last date for the GATE 2020 was declared as September 29, 2019, by the organising authorities that has been updated recently to October 5, 2019.
Interested candidates still have a chance to apply online for the examination. However, the application fee for the extended period, i.e., from September 29 to October 5, 2019, has been increased.
Candidates can visit the official website of the GATE gate.iitd.ac.in and apply online on or before October 5, 2019, to appear for the GATE 2020. The online applications for GATE 2020 were accepted from September 3, 2019.

The application for the extended period for the general candidates is Rs 2000 whereas for females and the candidates eligible for the reservation it is Rs 1250. Indian Institute (IIT) of Delhi has scheduled to conduct the GATE 2020 on February 1, 2, 8, and 9, 2020.
The examination will be held in two shifts: morning and noon, respectively. The morning shift examination will be held from 09:30 AM to 12:30 PM, and the afternoon shift examination will be held from 02:30 pm to 05:30 pm. IIT Delhi will release the results for GATE 2020 on March 16, 2020, through the official website of the GATE.
Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering is an entrance and eligibility test conducted by the Indian Institute (IIT) of Delhi to assess the eligibility of the candidates applying for postgraduate courses like M.E/ M.Tech / M.Arch /PhD in IITs, NIITs and other Engineering Institutions in India.

GATE 2020: How to apply
As the deadline for the online registrations of GATE 2020 has been extended to October 5, 2019, with an increased application fee, candidates that haven’t applied still have the last chance to apply for the eligibility test.
Detailed stepwise instruction on how to apply online for the GATE 2020 is mentioned below to help candidates during the online application process.
Step 1: Log on to the official website of the GATE: gate.iitd.ac.in.
Step 2: You’ll find a link ‘GATE 2020 online application portal’ on the homepage, click on it to proceed further.
Step 3: The link will be redirected to a new webpage where a link ‘Graduate Aptitude Test Engineering 2020 register here’ will be displayed, click on it to register on the website.
Step 4: Click on the New User/ Register link to register on the website using the required information.
Step 5: After registration, log in using the registered ID and password, fill the application form with the necessary information and submit.
Step 6: Upload scanned copies of signature, passport size photographs and required documents/ certificates and pay the application fee.
Step 7: Once the application fee is paid, a copy of the completed application form will be displayed on the screen, print/ save for further use.
