The Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering is scheduled to be conducted on February 1, 2, 8, and 9, 2020, by the Indian Institute (IIT) of Delhi. Also, there is an interesting update about the examination this year as the conducting authorities have decided to add a new paper of Biomedical Engineering in the examination.
The online registrations for the examination have commenced from September 3, 2019. The last date to apply for the examination is tomorrow, i.e., September 24, 2019. Candidates applying thereafter will have to pay the late fee, and the last date for applications with a late fee is on October 1, 2019.
The results for the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) 2020 has been scheduled to be released on March 16, 2020. The GATE score will be valid for three years from the release date of the result. Candidates who haven’t applied yet can still visit the official website of the GATE: gate.iitd.ac.in and submit the application form for GATE 2020.
The application fee for GATE 2020 is Rs 1500 for the general category candidates while it is Rs 750 for women and candidates eligible for reservation category. Post-September 24, the late fee for GATE 2020 is Rs 2000 for the general category candidates and Rs 1250 for women and reserved category students.
The GATE 2020 application fee for foreign students (Addis Abada, Colombo, Dhaka and Kathmandu) is USD 50, and for the candidates from countries Dubai and Singapore, the application fee is USD 100. The late fee for the foreign candidates is USD 70 and USD 120 respectively.
Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) is an entrance test conducted to assess the eligibility of the candidates for their admission in M.E / M.Tech / M.Arch /PhD across various IITs, NIITs, and many more institutions in India. The candidates from India and Foreign countries are eligible to apply for the examination provided they have completed their graduation in Engineering.
GATE 2020: How to apply
Interested and aspiring candidates can apply online for the GATE 2020 through the official website of the GATE: gate.iitd.ac.in. Candidates can follow the below-mentioned stepwise instructions to apply online.
Step 1: Visit the official website of GATE: gate.iitd.ac.in.
Step 2: On the homepage, click on the link ‘GATE 2020 online application portal click here.’
Step 3: The link will be redirected to a new webpage, find and click on the link ‘Graduate Aptitude Test Engineering 2020 register here.’
Step 4: Click on New User/ Register.
Step 5: Upon registration, fill the form and upload the scanned copies of the required images and documents/ certificates and click on ‘Submit’.
Step 6: Make the payment for the application fee.
Step 7: Once the application fee payment is successful, the copy of the filled-in application form will be displayed on the screen, download and take a printout for future use.
