The application process for Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) 2017 will begin from September 1, 2017. Before starting on the GATE Online Application Processing System (GOAPS, candidates should make sure they meet the eligibility criteria as there is no age limit, but a mandate degree qualification is required. Candidates can visit the official GATE portal to check the eligibility criteria.
The application fee for GATE 2017, for SC/ST/PwD (Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe, Person with Disability) category and women candidates is Rs 750, Rs 1,500 for all other candidates, and US $50 for International candidates. Once paid the application fee will not be refunded. The last day to apply for GATE 2017 is October 4, 2016.
GATE is jointly conducted by the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) and the Indian Institute of Science(IISc), Bangalore. For GATE 2017, IIT Roorkee is the organising institute, and IIT Bombay is the nodal centre which look after GATE International.
It is an online computer based test covering 23 papers. The exam is also used by Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs) for entry level recruitment. GATE 2017 scores will be valid for three years.
