There are always those who get around rules and instructions. Despite repeated warnings from both, Prometric and the CAT Convenor 2013, Prof Rohit Kapoor, questions are being posted blatantly on social media sites.
PaGaLGuY managed to unearth one such activity on Facebook. Titled Ganga Maiya ki kasam – this page has candidates posting questions from the current CAT exam in session. In fact, the screenshot above is of a question that appeared in the exam this morning.
A candidate who is subscribed to this page said that admission to this group is not easy. “There is an admin person so to speak, who decides on admission and he does not grant it to everybody. Luckily I got through.”
This candidate further said that quite a few of the questions which have appeared on Ganga Maiya ki….page have appeared in the CAT question papers over the last two weeks. “That makes me wonder whether there are really 40 different question sets as claimed by the IIMs and CAT or are they the same questions being repeated more than often,” this candidate asked.
He added that with the questions being available so easily, how would normalisaton work in a fair manner. “The questions that I took 4 minutes to solve I can see people being able to solve in few seconds because they know the questions.”
There is a hunch that the Ganga Maiya ki kasam group might be run by someone close to the a coaching institute but there is no evidence to back this. There is also talk that a couple of coaching institutes are running special CAT classes even now on specific subjects, knowing the trend of CAT 2013 questions.
