Located in New Delhi, India, FORE School of Management is a leading business school with a distinguished reputation for providing exceptional management education, research, and consultancy services since its establishment in 1981. FORE School of Management consistently ranks among the top business schools in India, focusing on cultivating responsible, ethical, and socially-aware leaders. The institution offers various full-time and part-time postgraduate management programs and executive development courses for working professionals, equipping students with the necessary knowledge, skills, and perspectives to thrive in a constantly evolving global business landscape.
The FORE Alumni Network (FAN) serves as a connecting bridge between the alumni and the institute, building a vibrant community of over 7,000+ FORE family members spread across the world. FAN aims to foster a mutually beneficial relationship between the institute and its alumni network, promoting increased engagement in various academic, cultural, and social activities both at the institute and beyond and facilitating interaction between alums and current students.
One member of this community is Ajay Jain, an alumnus of FORE School of Management who has found his own unique way of bringing people together through his love of travel and books. After working in technology, sports management, and media, Ajay began writing books on travel, personal development, marketing, and fiction in 2007. This led him to create Kunzum, a bookshop that also serves as a community space for readers, authors, editors, and publishers.
Kunzum is named after a high-altitude pass in the Indian Himalayas, which was also the name of Ajay’s travel blog and publishing imprint. In 2010, he opened Kunzum Travel Café, which quickly became a gathering place for people who shared his love of books, coffee, and events. Over the years, he has written 11 printed and 50 electronic books.
Despite his success, Ajay acknowledges that entrepreneurship has its challenges. One of the biggest hurdles he’s faced is finding the right people to work with, especially when capital is limited. He also believes that India needs to invest in higher quality education and be stricter when it comes to awarding grades, so that students are better equipped to succeed in the real world.
When asked for advice for aspiring entrepreneurs, Ajay stresses the importance of hard work and being a good student. He believes that the most successful innovators are those who either come up with something completely new or improve upon an existing idea.
The story of Ajay and Kunzum is just one example of the vibrant community that has emerged from FORE School of Management. Through the FORE Alumni Network, alumni are able to stay connected with the institute and with each other, creating a network of support that benefits everyone involved.
