A 3-day exhibition-cum-fun fair on career, ‘Marg’, has been organised for engineering and medical degree aspirants living in Kota, Rajasthan. The aim of the fair is to introduce aspirants to career options other than engineering and medicine. The event, organised by Allen Career Institute of Kota, commenced today, October 20, 2016. Around 75,000 aspirants are expected to participate in the event where they will be informed about more than 100 different courses offered in 30 private universities.
The fair seeks to provide students with information about diverse fields like Science, Arts, Fashion Designing, Law, Aviation, Ayurveda, Music, Painting, Management, Journalism, Yoga, Philosophy etc.
Naveen Maheshwari, Director, Allen Career Institute, Kota said, “Our aim is to help students understand various career opportunities available to them. ‘Marg’ seeks to answer queries which students about different careers including career options available to them apart from engineering and medical fields, courses they can opt for, pursuing research in their area of interest, colleges/universities which offer such courses etc.”
It is also a good opportunity for private universities to engage students eager to know about off-beat careers. M. Madan Mohan, admission manager, KL University, Andhra Pradesh said, “ Kota offers a great platform for universities and colleges to showcase their courses.”
The fair seems to be helping students gain clarity about choices they can make in future. Anirudh Diwan, a student who attended the fair, said, “My interest lies in the field of aeronautics. I feel I can make a more informed choice about courses I want to pursue after attending the fair.” Akshaydeep, another student who attended a career fair for the first time, was happy to know that so many career options are also available to him, apart from engineering and medicine .
