The beginning of a new life after high school holds a great deal of value for a student. But the beginning of the same in an engineering college brings new avenues in a rather mundane life. I still remember the day when my JEE-ADVANCED results were declared and I was heartbroken for not being admitted to one of the esteemed colleges in India (the IIT’S). I now understand that God had different things planned for me.

A
good JEE MAIN score and a high percentage in HSC assured me admission in one of
the best colleges in Mumbai, Sardar Patel Institute of Technology. Engineering
education in this college has transformed me from a quiet, restrained and shy
boy into a confident and bindass
student.

Along
with studies, what engineering helps you with is to become an all-rounder. There
are a number of fields in which one can excel like dance, singing, drama, playing
sports like cricket, football, volleyball, table tennis or other technical
aspects like coding, microcontrollers, ethical hacking, making robots, etc. Technical
and cultural fests are filled with zeal and pomp. They have the power to
influence and change relationship dynamics. I too indulged myself into myriad activities,
workshops and competitions. In fact, a couple of months into my first year, I
was appointed as the Class Representative (a position I boast off even today).

Engineering
also makes you struggle; be it completing innumerable assignments, taking a
quiz or tests regularly or tirelessly waiting for a month to complete your
semester exams. The most nerve wrenching moment of the year turned out to be
looking at my result. The first aim of any engineer is always 32 but the actual
aim is to secure a good and formidable consistent pointer.

Some
of the most majestic memories though, are the moments I spent with my new
friends; some of who shall stick with me throughout my life. But, what made the
year fruitful was learning varied qualities like teamwork, co-ordination, never
giving up, marketing skills, new engineering concepts, proving every concept and
experiencing it practically, and making my first robot. I still have a lot to
learn and incorporate in myself to improve not only as an engineer but also as
a human being.

Thus,
this is just the beginning of a successful end.
