According to officials, the entrance exam will be conducted by the Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University (JNTU). The other engineering entrance exam dates were also announced. JNTU will also conduct the ECET on May 12, to be followed by PGECET on May 29, conducted by Osmania University.
EAMCET was held on May 14 in 2015. However, the entrance exam date has been brought up a couple of weeks in 2016 to avoid clashing with other national entrance exams. “Notification of the exam is expected to come in February 2016. Until then, the Telangana Admissions and Fee Regulatory Committee will process the fee structure of several professional colleges. Simultaneously, JNTU will begin the affiliation process of all engineering colleges,” said Reddy.
Reddy also added that the question paper will have 160 multiple choice questions and the exam will be conducted in Telugu and English. Additionally, students in Hyderabad will be allowed to choose Urdu as their preferred language. There are no minimum qualifying marks for candidates belonging to the SC/ST categories.
