The Defense Research and Development Organization (DRDO) is a government body under the Ministry of Defense which had been established to promote research and ensure development in all defence-related fields operational in our country.
It is entrusted with the work of developing newer technologies by engaging in extensive research to ensure the independence and consolidation of our defence system alongside equipping it with latest technological advancements.

The Research and Development Establishment (Engrs) of the DRDO has, today, released an advertisement mentioning the invitation of applications from interested candidates for the post of Junior Research Fellow.
The number of vacancies for the mentioned post is 5. The advertisement was released on 1st of November 2019, and according to this advertisement, the deadline for applying to this post will be exactly 21 days from the date of publication of advertisement. The 5 vacancies for the post of Junior Research Fellow is divided according to various disciplines- There is 1 vacancy each for Electronic and Telecommunication Engineering, Material Science/ Polymer Science/ Technology and Computer Engineering.
There are 2 vacancies under Mechanical Engineering. The duration of the post will be for 2 years which may be extended by the R&DE after gradual analysis of the performance of the candidates.
The candidate who is finally selected and appointed can expect a monthly stipend of Rs. 25,000 plus HRA.

Other additional skills like Knowledge in Web Design Development, Algorithm Development, Data Visualization, Data Base Design, Machine Learning, Cloud Computing, etc., are very much desirable and shall be taken into account during the final selection process.
The upper age limit for all applicants is 28 years. However, there are relaxations for those belonging to other categories apart from the general one.
For candidates belonging to the SC/ST category, there is an age relaxation of 5 years while for the OBC candidates, there is a 3-year relaxation available.
