The Directorate of Medical Education and Research (DMER), Maharashtra, released the revised first selection list today, August 1, as per the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) Under-Graduate (UG) merit list. A total of 42,700 candidates have been allotted seats in the revised first list on the basis of NEET UG 2017 merit list. Candidates can view the selection list on the official portal of DMER.

The revised first list is for all the Health Science courses in permitted Government/Corporation Colleges, and Private Unaided Institutions. DMER also released an important set of guidelines for selected candidates, which they should adhere to without fail. Below are some of them :
- Candidates selected during the first selection list, and there is no change in the revised list will remain in the same institution. Status retention form filled by such candidates stands cancelled.
- Candidates selected during the first selection list, but there is a change in the revised list will cancel his/her admission from previous college and join newly selected college.
- Newly selected candidates will join respective colleges with all their original documents, and requisite fees. The last date to join the selected institution is August 5, 3pm. If selected candidate fails to join respective college before the said time, his/her name will be deleted from merit list, and will be debarred from the system till the end of the process. The Admitting Institute will verify the documents and ascertain eligibility of the candidates as per the NEET(UG)-CET 2017 brochure and Notice datedJuly 27, 2017.
- All candidates having (*) mark before their names should report to the college mentioned along with their name and submit a photocopy of domicile certificate within three days, i.e. till August 3. Their admission will be confirmed only after receiving verification report about their domicile.
- Selected candidates must fill the status retention form before August 7, 3pm, otherwise they will be held eligible for mandatory upgradation during round two.
- This list does not include all 305 colleges, as some are awaiting recognition/ permission from the Government. If such colleges get approval from the concerned authority, then the seats will be made available during next selection round.
Note:
What is meant by Status Retention?
If the candidate wishes to continue at the college/institution he/she is admitted to in the first round (or subsequent round) of selection and does not wish to have betterment (selection to his higher choice), he/she may do so by filling a ‘status retention’ form to be submitted to the Competent Authority through the college where he/she is admitted.
