Directorate of Medical Education and Research (DMER), Maharashtra has notified that the medical aspirants seeking admission in private medical and dental colleges in the state should fill up preference forms from September 8, 2016. The online submission of application and filling of preference form can be done through the official website of DMER.
The Bombay High Court on September 7, 2016 ordered the state government to come up with two different merit lists; one an All-India merit list and the other a merit list of medical aspirants with Maharashtra state domicile. Chief Justice Manjulla Chellur and MS Sonak further stated that they will hear arguments on a daily basis from September 8, 2016 and resolve the issue of domicile admission in the state before September 30, 2016.
DMER has been directed by the Bombay High Court to invite applications and college preferences from the candidates, who have appeared for NEET UG 2016, for seeking admission in private medical and dental colleges for the academic year 2016-17. The aspirants will be able to submit their application and preference of colleges on the official website of DMER from September 8 to 11, 2016.
The DMER notification has indicated that the merit list prepared for such All India Category aspirants (if any), shall subject to further court orders of writ petitions in the Bombay High Court.
