The Directorate of Medical Education and Research, (DMER) Maharashtra, released the revised first selection list today, August 1.
It is based on the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (UG) and Common Entrance Test (CET) 2017, and candidates have time till August 5, 3pm to join the selected institute.
While scanning through the notice released for selected candidates, and going through a published source quoting DMER Director Dr Pravin Shingare, PaGaLGuY noticed some contradiction.
The notice states if a candidate who was allotted a seat in the first selection list that was releasedon July 28, and if there is change in the revised selection list declared today, August 1, then he/she will cancel his/her admission from the previous college and join the newly selected college.
However Dr Shingare was quoted that above mentioned candidates can retain their seats from previous college.
PaGaLGuY spoke to Dr Shingare to clarify on how medical candidates should go about it. He said, “If the seat is upgraded then the student cannot retain it, otherwise till now 2,000 candidates have retained their seats.”
