What are the top challenges that you want to solve today for your institution?
The top 3 challenges that face the school today , which are my top of mind concerns are
1. continually improve the quality of admissions
2. increase the quality of placements
3. improve quality of education. Quality is the key operative word
Would you choose to be called an academician or an administrator? Why?
In the field of management education, it is a dilemma to ponder whether we are in the Business of management education or in the education of business management. I would rather be in the business of management education and be an administrator more than an academician although I can just not shake the trainer out of me.
How would you want to solve the problem of Quality Faculty in Management Education? Can we follow a framework for the same?
Extremely relevant question , I am glad you raised this one . The issues of quality faculty is a deeply rooted malaise in our entire education system , the regulator , the industry and the stakeholders of the management education all have agendas which do not seem to meet at any convergent point. There needs to be a common objective and an Industry Academia interface providing seamless back and forth transistioons is in my opinion an effective framework that could add value to the quality enhancement of management faculty
What’s your biggest achievement as a part of this Institution?
It may be too early in the day for me to make any claim to achievements. I set upon my task with the first point on the agenda, trust and respect of the students ,and faculty. I daresay i have travelled a fair distance towards this objective.
According to you, what’s the ideal profile of a candidate whom you would accept into your program?
The ideal participant in the PGP or MBA program is a graduate with around 3 years of work experience and a positive A category attitude . I am happy even if he is a bit under skilled
