Badminton player P V Sindhu made history by being youngest Indian sportsperson to win a medal at the quadrennial Olympics. Sindhu won the Silver medal in women’s singles badminton event at Rio Olympics 2016.
She is also the first women to win a Silver in Badminton events at Olympics. Saina Nehwal won a Bronze medal at London Olypmics in 2012.
Sindhu is the fourth Indian to win a silver at the Olympics after shooters Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore (2004, Athens) and Vijay Kumar (2012, London) and wrestler Sushil Kumar (2012, London).
Moreover, she became the fifth woman player from India to win a medal in Olympics.

Pandit Shivkumar Sharma is an exponent of the Santoor, a string instrument and has its origins in Kashmir.
Pandit Sharma started his career as a musician at the All India Radio (AIR), which helped make the instrument popular among people at large.
The Delhi Gharana to which Ustad Chand Khan belongs is associated with Amir Khusro.
