1. Pahlaj Nihalani
chosen as a New Chairman of CBFC

i. Filmmaker and Prdoucer Pahlaj Nihalani
appointed as the new Chairman of Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC).

ii. He replaced Leela Samson who resigned last
week from her post citing corrupting in Information and Broadcasting ministry.

iii. Pahlaj Nihalani produced some hit movies in
1990s such as Shola Aur Shabnam and Aankehn.

iv. He also created the video for BJP party “Har
ghar Modi” nine months ago.

v. Nine others members were also appointed as nine
other members of CBFC had resigned from their posts alleging interference from
the government.

vi. The other newly-appointed Censor Board
members are Mihir Bhuta, Syed Abdul Bari, Ramesh Patange, George Baker, Chandra
Prakashh Diwedi, Jeevitha, Vani Tripathi Tikoo, SV Shekhar and Ashok Pandit.

2. Bhutan PM Lyonchhen
Tshering Tobgay visited India

i. Prime Minister of Bhutan visited India with
his spouse Aum Tashi Douma.

ii. He met Prime Minister Narendra Modi and had
discussion on bilateral relations as well as on regional and international
issues of mutual interest and concern.

3. India set to surpass China next year: IMF

i. International Monetary Fund (IMF) projected
that India will grow 6.5 per cent in 2016 and will surpass China in its latest
World Economic Outlook report.

ii. IMF also forecast India growth rate for 2015 at
6.3% which will up from 5.8% in 2014. China’s 2014 growth rate was 7.4 per
cent.

iii. IMF projected global growth will boss as oil
prices are coming down. IMF lower global growth forecast for 2015 to 3.5% and
for 2016 at 3.7%.

4. Former PM Manmohan
Singh Adopted Pachin Bekeli Gaon

i. Under Sansad Adarsh Gram Yoajana scheme
former Prime Minister of India has adopted Pachim Bekeli Gaon Panchyat which is located in Kamrup district
in Assam.

ii. Manmohan Singh is the Rajya Sabha member of
Parliament from Assam.

About Sansad
Adarsh Gram Yojana –

i. Prime Minister Narendra Modi on 15 August
2014 announced Sansad Asarsh Gram Yojana.

ii. It aims to cover 2500 villages by 2019.
Under the project, each Member of Parliament (MP) will take up the
responsibility of providing infrastructure and developing three villages by
2019.

iii. The objective of the project is to create a
holistic development of all adopted villages by the MPs in all aspects -human,
personal, social, economic and environmental development, including provision
of basic amenities, services, security and good governance.

5. England beat
India by 9 wickets

i. England defeated India by 9 wickets in Tri –
nation ODI series match at Brisbane

ii. India won the toss and decided to bat and set
target for England of 153 runs in 39.3 overs

iii. England pacer Steven Finn bagged 5 wickets for
England. Binny was the highest scorer from Indian side he score 44 runs.

iv. England achieved the target and defeated India
by 9 wickets.

v. This is was the India second defeat in Tri –
nation ODI series, they lost their first match against Australia by 4 wickets.
