1) India launched International Solar Alliance 

a) At the CoP21 Climate Conference in Paris, India launched an International Solar Alliance (ISA). ISA invited all the countries located fully of partly between tropics of Cancer & Capricorn to join.

b) ISA will function to reduce the cost of finance & technology needed to reply solar power as well as adaptation of new generation and storage as per needs of individual countries.

c) This alliance will also pursue cooperation in training , building institutions, regulatory issues, common standards and investments. 

d) ISA will function from the National Institute of Solar Energy in India at Gurgaon. Central government will support ISA for five years and it will be co-chaired by Indian Prime minister Mr. Narendra Modi & French President Francois Hollande.

2. Veteran Russian film maker Eldar Ryazanov passes away

a) One of the famous film makers of Russia from Soviet era, Eldar Ryazanov recently passed away.

b) His popular comedy movies during 1960s & 70s showed the usual absurdities in daily life of a common Russian man living under the Communist regime. 

c) Carnival Night (1956), Irony of Fate, The Garage & Office Romance are few of his most popular comedy films.

3. Bharti Airtel to invest Rs. 60,000 crore in ‘Project Leap’

a) India’s foremost telecom service provider Bharti Airtel has announced to invest Rs. 60,000 crore under it’s ambitious programme called ‘Project Leap’.

b) The object of this programme is to provide good quality of voice and data services. Airtel will deploy over 70,000 base stations in the current fiscal under this programme.

c) Over the period of next three years, more than 1,60,000 base stations will be set up nationwide.

4. Mission Innovation launched in Paris convention for clean energy revolution

a) Mission Innovation was launched on 30th November by world leaders to accelerate clean energy revolution in Paris convention. Total 20 participating countries launched this mission at United Nations Climate Change Conference 2015 (COP21) in Paris-Le Bourget.

b) Primary Objective of this mission is to double the clean energy research and development funding by 2020 of member countries.

c) Mission Innovation stands to provide affordable clean energy to everyone around the world. 

d) Participating countries pledged to work with existing international institutions and to cooperate each other to help governments, private investors, and technology innovators.

e) This mutual collaboration will cover areas such as data sharing, technology and analysis to promote the commercialization and to propagate clean energy technology around the world. 

5. President Pranab Mukherjee presents Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam IGNITE Award 

a) On 30th November, 2015 President Pranab Mukherjee presented Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam IGNITE award 2015 to a total of 40 school students from 18 states.

b) This award is is given to the winner of national competition of original technological ideas and innovations by children upto class 12th.

c) With association of Central Board of secondary education(CBSE), Honey bee network & other state educational boards National Innovation Foundation (NIF) organises this competition every year on 15th October, on Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam’s birthday. 15th October is also celebrated as Children’s creativity and Innovation Day by NIF.

6. China’s Yuan is enlisted as Elite Reserve Currency by IMF

a) China’s national currency Yuan is included in Elite Reserve Currency Basket by International Monetary Fund (IMF).

b) During the IMF’s executive board’s five yearly of the basket of currencies Yuan was added to the list.  After the inclusion, Yuan will be a freely usable currency which will be added in SDR (Spacial Drawing Right) basket. It will be the fifth currency in SDR basket after US Dollar, Euro, Japanese Yen & British Pound. 

c) The new SDR basket will be launched on 1st October , 2016. It will provide enough time  to the IMF members and other SDR users to adjust to these changes.

d) This decision will make a way for integration of Chinese economy into global financial system. 

7. IPV injection launched by Union government

a) Union Government launched the injectable Inactivated Polio Vaccine (IPV) as a part of its commitment to Global polio endgame strategy. 

b) Union Health minister & Family Welfare JP Nadda launched IPV injection in New Delhi. This launch is a part of India’s inversion immunisation programme to fight against polio in the country.

c) The first phase will be introduced in six states. They are Assam, Gujarat, Punjab, Bihar, Madhya Pradesh & Uttar Pradesh. This injection will be given to children below one year age with the third dose of the Oral Polio Vaccine (OPV).

d) Both IPV & OPV will strengthen children’s immune system and will provide double protection against polio.
