The admission authority has prescribed the minimum eligibility criteria and candidates need to fulfill them to apply for the exam. Candidates who dream to appear for the admission to Cochin University must refer to eligibility criteria of CUSAT CAT 2019 so as to know whether they are eligible to appear for entrance examination or not. The eligibility criteria are set as a parameter by the admission authority which candidates must fulfill if they wish to take admission in the university. The admission authority will not give the admission to any of course if the candidate is not eligible and they may cancel the admission even if the candidate has cleared the entrance examination. The pre-requisite for the Cochin University of Science & Technology are as follows:-
- The age limit is not specified by the admission authority of CUSAT CAT examination. Candidates of any age can apply for the exam provided they qualify the other criteria specified by the authorities.
- Candidates from Kerala SC or Kerala ST are eligible to apply only if qualify the minimum pass marks.
- Candidates should have Mathematics and Physics as compulsory and Chemistry as an optional subject in 10+2 exam for the admission in B. Tech course.
- For the undergraduate course, candidates are required to pass 10+2 examination from the recognized university.
- Candidates must score at least 50% marks in the qualifying exam for the admission in an undergraduate course.
- Candidates for the admission in LLM course must possess at least 55% marks in the bachelor’s degree from any university in the state of Kerala or any examination from any the other University accepted by the Syndicate thought of equivalent by the university.
- Candidate must be an employee of Central Government and should be staying within the radius of 30 km from CUSAT, Thrikkakara Campus for the 3 year LLB course.
- If the candidate has any backlog in 10+2 then they will not be eligible to apply for the CUSAT CAT examination.
- Candidates applying for B. Tech Marine Engineering will have to produce the physical and eye fitness medical examination from a medical officer approved by the DG shipping.
- For the admission in MCA, candidates must have the mathematics as one of the compulsory subjects in 10+2 equivalent and should have scored aggregate at least 55% marks in the graduation.
- Candidates should be graduate with the degree in any one of the following for the admission in MCA course – Electronics, Computer Science, Computer Applications, Engineering, Technology.
- Candidates must possess a bachelor’s degree in the required field for the admission in postgraduate courses.
- Candidates should score at least 60% marks in the qualifying degree for the admission in postgraduate courses.
- The minimum marks may be different for each course for the admission in CUSAT courses.
- For admission in BA LLB course, candidates should have passed 10+2 with at least 60% marks including languages in Science/ Commerce Group or at least 55% marks including languages in Arts/Humanities Stream.
- The admission authority provides the eligibility criteria for all the courses before releasing the application form so the candidates should read them carefully.
