In the previous articles on the combined Geo-scientist and Geologist Exam, we had discussed the plan and syllabus of the exam, among other details. In this article, let us understand the Posts/Services to which candidates would be recruited on passing this exam.
As per the UPSC – Combined Geo-Scientist and Geologist Examination 2015 notification, candidates selected through this exam would be recruited to the following posts/services:
Category I:
Geologist
Geophysicist
(iii) Chemist
Category II:
Junior Hydrogeologists (Scientist B)
Service
Category I
(i) Those candidates who get appointed as Geologist are expected to serve in the Ministry of Mines, Central Geological Services Group ‘A’.
(ii) Those candidates who get appointed as Geophysicist are expected to serve in Geological Survey of India Geophysical Service, Group ‘A’.
(iii) Those candidates who get appointed as Chemist are expected to serve in the Geological Survey of India Chemical Service, Group ‘A’.
Category II
Those candidates who get appointed as Jr. Hydrogeologists (Scientist B) are expected to serve in Central Ground Water Board, Central Water Services.
Pay Scale
All the above mentioned posts come under Pay band 3 – Rs.15,600 – 39,100 with Grade Pay of Rs. 5,400.
