CMAT Feb 2012 results declared, scorecards to be available from Mar 15

Candidates awaiting their Common Management Admission Test (CMAT) scores that were due to release on March 11, 2012, were in for a surprise when the results were declared fifteen minutes before the turn of the date, around 11:45 PM on March 10.

The results contain the total marks as well as the all Indian rank (AIR) obtained by the candidates in the exam. Applicants need to log on to the CMAT website www.aicte-cmat.in with their username and password. This would lead them to the results webpage where they need to enter their roll numbers post which they will see their total marks and rank.

Individual CMAT scorecards containing the sectional cutoffs in addition to the total marks and AIR are set to be released on March 15, 2012.

Vijay Kalyan Jha from New Delhi has topped the first edition of CMAT. Sujitkumar Birendranath from Mumbai and Kushagra Rajul Rahul from Rajkot have secured rank 2 and 3 respectively. Among the top 20, seven candidates are from Mumbai followed by two each from New Delhi, Pune and Bangalore respectively, an All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) official told PaGaLGuY.

While those who accessed the results website early on have been able to witness their results, at the time of writing the article the website was choked due to traffic and inaccessible.

I have been trying to see my results since the morning but the website is just not responding, Ankit Kumar, a CMAT aspirant from Delhi told PaGaLGuY. On the other hand, those aspirants who have seen their scores face another dilemma. Since most colleges have not given any tentative cutoffs for the CMAT scores, I do not know how good my scores are for colleges like Welingkar and KJ Somaiya, said Suraj Pahara, a CMAT candidate from Mumbai who has scored 236 marks with a rank of 934.

Based on their results in the CMAT exam, candidates can now apply to all the colleges that are considering CMAT scores for admissions from this year onwards. Barring Goa Institute of Management, whose application deadline for CMAT scores has already passed, most other colleges are still accepting applications.
