Ending weeks of anxiety for close to 2.76 lakh students, the CAT 2008 results appeared on the official CAT website late Thursday evening, a day before the official release date of Friday, January 9. The result appeared intermittently on the site, indicating that the link was undergoing testing by the IIMs. However, word leaked out and several CAT aspirants could access their results on Thursday itself. A note must be made of PaGaLGuY users geminishivani, virtus_p, scheerattack, AMIT_007_001, debashish4u and estranged_gnrs, some of the people with access to the results page who helped out hundreds of othersby checking results on their behalf.

Incidentally, CAT 2008 could be the last pencil-and-paper CAT, as the IIMs have made strong indications that CAT 2009 will be computer based test.
