A seminar on ‘Careers in Securities Markets’ was held on the 13th of December, 2016 in the Mini Auditorium of ITM Campus, Kharghar at 2 PM.
SPEAKERS
Ms. Harshita Pant (Assistant Manager) and Ms. Megha Gupta (Assistant Manager), NISM were the speakers for the day.
The seminar initiated with a warm welcome note by Shruti.
The session started with Ms. Harshita briefing with a background of NISM & about the various important schools under NISM-one amongst them which would be relevant to the students being PGPSM (Post Graduate Programme In Securities Market).
She was then followed by Ms. Megha Gupta who guided the students on the following topics:
- Why securities market is needed?
- Functions of stock exchange
- Role of Brokers and Sub-brokers
- Who are Custodians?
- Asset Management Companies
- Portfolio Managers
- Depository Participants
- Various employers such as Banks, MF Distributors, AMC’s
A pamphlet was also distributed to each student giving a detailed description of the various certificate courses at NISM, it’s fees structure, validity of the course etc.
The seminar got concluded by a felicitation ceremony where the Dean Ms. Saritprava Das gave a token of thanks to the guest speakers. It was concluded by a very interactive question & answer round.
