Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg’s town hall at IIT Delhi was limited to
just 900 students (3500 applied for a lottery based seat in the auditorium
before authorities closed entries) and about 200 invitees.
One would have expected IITD’s students to ask him smart
questions, especially around net neutrality and the issues plaguing Facebook’s
Free Basics initiative. Instead, it turned out to be a tepid affair with
questions that were probably planted to make the event a quasi-advertorial for
the successor to Internet.org, reports india.com.
The biggie amongst questions – as per many – was asking Zuckerberg
how to stop receiving irritating requests for games like Candy Crush. Zuckerberg
promised a solution for the menace.
He was also asked about what he would do if he gained
superpowers, or if he had experienced any ‘eureka’ moment in the early days of
Facebook. He also discussed augmented reality and how Facebook was helping
reach out and support finding children who had gone missing under an initiative
known as ‘Amber Alert’, reports Indian Express.
