The Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Advanced will be conducted on Sunday, May 22, 2016. About two lakh students are expected to take the exam which will be held in two slots.
The first paper will be held from 9 am to noon, and students are advised to reach their respective examination centres before 7.30 am. Similarly, for the second paper, candidates should be at the centre before 1 pm and the exam will begin at 2.30 pm.
The candidates must carry their original identity cards, without which they will not be allowed to take the exam. The proofs of identity that will be accepted are the Aadhaar card, School/College ID, Driving License, Passport or PAN card. The admit cards issued by the Central Board of Secondary Education for JEE Mains will not be considered as proof of identity.
Prof KV Krishna, Chairman, JEE Advanced 2016, said, “We will not accept the admit cards as ID because no one validates them. One can put any photograph on it, and download it. It will not serve the purpose of checking the candidate’s identity.” Candidates can use their school or college identity cards as well. Krishna added, “We will accept only verified IDs certified by the concerned authority as the details and photographs of the candidate would be authenticated.”
They must also carry a copy of the downloaded JEE Advanced admit card. The original admit card will be issued to the candidate during the Paper I examination and it must be retained safely till all formalities of admission are complete.
