118 Students with varied academic and work experience backgrounds were placed among the 30 + companies which thronged the campus to select the best of the lot. At this juncture we would like to thank the corporate world for the trust they showed in the MBA students of BIM Trichy. This was clearly evident from the fact that not only did the average pay package increase to 7.02 lakhs p.a from 6.03 lakhs p.a last year but also from the challenging new profiles that was offered to the students. However in this process it also happened that BIM had to reject many attractive recruiters from campus visits, which BIM is apologetic about.

The various sectors that the students were offered placements from were
· FMCG and other Consumer Goods
· Travel & Tourism
· Consulting
· Analytics
· Auto and other Manufacturing
· IT Consulting and Services
· Banking and Financial Services

The companies from the Banking sector and other Financial services were the largest recruiters with 41 jobs followed by the IT sector with 36 jobs.

In a modern world that prides itself on the ownership of things, our salaries seem to always overshadow any other personal meaning that we can pull from a job. But students of the Class of 2007 opted for their desired profiles than going for hefty pay package offered.

The banking sector and other financial services witnessed some challenging profiles like Derivatives modeling and Equity research, Project financing and Credit Risk Management. Thomas Cook selected students for its middle management leadership programme which is another feather in the hat. “It’s no more a credit for the college to place the students by the Day one of the placements. The real challenge has become of giving profiles the students ask for in the industry and which they are focused about.”
