Institute of Rural Management Anand successfully completed its placements for the Management Traineeship Segment (MTS) for the 38th batch of the flagship Post Graduate Diploma in Rural Management (PGDRM). The MTS is the winter internship segment of PGDRM that’s designed to expose the students to the working and functions of organizations that gives them an opportunity to apply, test and polish the skills acquired in the classroom. MTS is carried out by the students’ placements committee that is supported and nurtured by the Institute under the leadership and advice of MTS Chair, Prof. Shyam Singh.
A total of 404 internship offers were made for the batch of 172 students by 110 organizations that participated in the MTS process. Offers were in diverse domains like agribusiness, rural marketing, CSR, development, among others. Some of the organizations that participated in the MTS were NDDB, Amul, World Bank, Reliance Foundation, Godrej, Pidilite, ITC, Adani, IndusInd, Big Basket, Future Group, Grofers and DLight.
The students were placed within three days with the highest stipend being Rs. 1.80 lakh. The mean stipend was Rs. 48,840.
The successful winter internship placements in organizations with a strong rural footprint only strengthen IRMA’s commitment towards its vision. The Institute’s focus on developing its participants into management graduates with a deep understanding of rural India continues to resonate with organizations both national and international.
