The Andhra Pradesh Public Service Commission (APPSC) psc.ap.gov.in established from November 01, 1956 with the formation of the state. During 1963, the Government of AP brought regulations called as APPSC Regulations and it was based on the Madras Public Service Commission’s Regulations, 1950. The main functions of the APPSC are direct recruitment, conducting examinations for recruiting the candidates, conducting the Half yearly examination for IPS and IAS officers and Proficiency tests for AIS officers etc. the selection process for the posts in APPSC includes the mandatory written test or CBT which will be
followed by the interview process.
APPSC (Andhra Pradesh Public Service Commission) has released the admit card for group 1 services exam, as per commission exam is scheduled to be held on 26th May. The exam was initially scheduled for 10th March and was later rescheduled to 30th March. APPSC conducts screening test only when the number of applicants exceeds 25,000. Through this exam and the main exam, APPSC will recommend candidates against 169 vacancies. Meanwhile, the preliminary exam for group 2 services exam was held on 5th May.
The preliminary exam will consist of two papers-general studies & general aptitude. The general studies paper will comprise 120 questions related to Social Justice and International, History and Culture, Geography, Constitution polity, Indian and Andhra Pradesh Economy and Planning. In the general aptitude, paper questions will assess the administrative & psychological abilities, current events of regional, national & international importance.
The screening test will carry a total of 240 marks.
