The Andhra Pradesh Public Service Commission (APPSC) was established in the same year when Andhra Pradesh received its statehood, that is, 1956. As a Public Service Commission, it acts as a recruitment body for various administrative posts in the various departments of the state government.
It also conducts free and fair examinations for the recruitment process, along with other tests to recruit highly capable candidates.
The APPSC has been carrying out the recruitment for the post of Extension Officer Grade-1. It had announced a total of 109 vacancies for this post. The recruitment drive was announced last year in December, with the application process conducted between 28th December 2018 to 22nd January 2019.
The exam for the Andhra Pradesh Extension Officer Grade-1 was conducted on 29th April 2019, and the results of the exam were declared on 16th October 2019. This was a written examination that comprised the first part of the recruitment process. Candidates whose names appeared on the merit list released in October have qualified for the second stage.
After the written examination, selected candidates will have to appear for a Personal Interview. It is on the basis of the interview and marks achieved in the written examination that the final candidates will be shortlisted for the post.
APPSC had announced that the candidates who are eligible for the interview would have to appear for the same between 18th November 2019 to 5th December 2019. However, according to a recent notification released by the APPSC, the interview for AP Extension Officer Grade-1 has been postponed.

Thus, as of now, candidates are not aware of any new dates announced by the APPSC for the interview. However, the notification also stated that the updates regarding the interview dates would be communicated on 20th November 2019. Candidates will have to wait up in the meantime for any further updates.
Candidates, however, should continue preparing for the interview so that they are completely confident on the day of the interview.
Here are a few tips that will be useful for the interview –
- Candidates should be fully aware of the recent happenings in the state and the country.
- They should have a clear knowledge about the history, geography, culture, traditions etc. of the state.
- Candidates should be able to answer basic questions like “what makes them a fit candidate?” or “how will they contribute to the post?”
- Confidence is the key to any interview.
- Candidates should highly presentable during the interview.
