It is said that understanding and knowledge comes with the experience. Hands-on experience through cases and projects; and access to globally renowned knowledge experts is what MYRA School of Business had offered me the most.
My final year Capstone project was on ‘Inbound Marketing’ and as in any course at MYRA, the emphasis was on group work and delivery of results. Working in a team of 4, our objective was to generate quality sales lead for a small enterprise in Mysore.
We analysed how inbound marketing as a tool helped SMEs from several markets and industries; to devise the best strategy on content creation and online posting for the enterprise in Mysore. Every project is guided by a Subject Market Expert and in our case the guidance came from Dr. Shalini Urs – a Fullbright Scholar and a thought leader in information sciences and management who is also the Founder Chairperson at MYRA.
The experience paved the way for my interviews with start-ups and corporates at Mysore and Bangalore. One notable experience was when the CEO of a start-up in Mysore mentioned how impressed he was at the depth of knowledge I had on In-bound Marketing. Focus on academic rigour and delivery of global standards was a requisite at MYRA – an emphasis that shaped the way I deliver results.
Today I work as a Management Trainee for Value Point Group at Bangalore – a cross functional role that calls for subject knowledge in every function that the company operates in, with constant interaction with cross functional teams and clients from varied industries. I believe that the MYRA Experience moulded me to adapt well to the challenges of such a function which has led to me having a well-rounded career at the organisation
