All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), one of India’s leading medical institutions will be conducting the entrance examination for the DM, MCh and MD HA (Doctorate of Medicine, Mater of Surgery and Doctor of Medicine in Hospital Administration) super specialisation programmes on November 5, 2016. The entrance test is for the January 2017 academic session. Each candidate must take the written online Computer Based Test (CBT). The hour and a half long test will commence at 10 am and end at 11.30 am.
Admit cards for the test are issued on the AIIMS official website. Candidates must login in with their candidate ID and password, download the admit card and print it for further reference. There are four examination centres in India — Mumbai, Delhi NCR, Chennai and Kolkata where the candidates must appear for taking the test.
AIIMS has 27 specialities in DM. There are 91 seats, 60 for the general category along with 31 sponsored seats. Similarly, there are 11 specialities in MCh and a total of 40 seats including 29 seats for the general category and 11 sponsored seats.
The marking pattern for the test includes one mark for every question answered correctly and negative one third of a mark for every incorrectly answered question. There will be no marks for a question left for review or left unanswered. The test has 80 MCQs that the candidate needs to answer in the given time.
An individual applying for either DM or MCh, must hold an MBBS degree along with a MD or MS degree (Doctor of Medicine or Master of Surgery) from a university or institution recognised by the Medical Council of India (MCI).
