3,820 all India quota seats up for grabs in NEET 2016

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) successfully declared the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) 2016 results on August 16.

Medical aspirants now await the beginning of the online counselling (seat allocation) process. The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) released the seat matrix for 15% all India quota (AIQ)seats on the official MCC portal on August 17, 2016.

There are approximately 3,521 seats available for MBBS (Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery) aspirants in 629 colleges across the country. For BDS (Bachelor of Dental Surgery) aspirants, there are 299 seats up for grabs in 101 colleges.

Registrations for the all India online counselling is scheduled to start from August 22. Candidates should note that they have to finish the registration and fill their choices for Round 1 by August 25, 5 pm.

Only those candidates who were declared qualified for all India quota undergraduate seats for MBBS and BDS will be eligible for online allotment process. For state quota and Armed Forces Medical College, private medical and dental college seats, the candidates are required to contact the appropriate state government’s admission authority and Directorate of Medical Education.
