The Lal Bahadur Shastri National Award is an annual prestigious award instituted from Lal Bahadur Shastri Institute of Management, Delhi. This consists of a cash award of 5,00,000 rupees plus a citation and a plaque. It is awarded for excellence in Public Administration, Academics and Management. The event started on a positive note with National Anthem being recited in the auditorium.
Mr Anil Shastri gave the welcome address wherein he started by welcoming everyone present in the auditorium. He recreated memories of Shastri Ji by citing incidents from his life and talking about the slogan “Jai Jawan Jai Kisaan”. He urged the youth to follow their values as justice is based on mere values and the basic idea of governance lies in the overall development of society.
Vice President M. Venkaiah Naidu honoured the senior advocate Fali Sam Nariman with Lal Bahadur Shastri National Award for Excellence in Public Administration. He congratulated Mr Nariman and said that humility, courage and integrity define the true spirit of this award. He talked about Shastri Ji’s political career citing various instances from his life. He ended the speech by motivating the audience and also asked the youth to follow the values of Mahatma Gandhi and Jawaharlal Nehru.

- Conduct
- Caliber
- Capacity
The vote of thanks was given by Dr D.K Srivastava, Director of LBSIM. He congratulated the recipient of the award and extended greetings to everyone present. He ended by appraising the slogan “Jai Jawaan Jai Kisaan Jai Vigyaan”. A momento was also presented to the Honourable Vice President and the event marked its end on the tunes of The National Anthem.
