What is the MICAT Exam?
The MICAT exam, short for MICA Admission Test, is an online entrance exam for admission to MICA’s PGP programs, including PGDM and PGDM-C. The exam consists of both objective and subjective questions across different sections. It includes three main parts:
- Psychometric Test
- Descriptive Test
- Aptitude Test
Section C of the MICAT exam covers topics commonly found in competitive exams. It features multiple-choice questions (MCQs) from four sub-sections: Divergent-Convergent Reasoning, Verbal Ability, Quantitative Ability, and General Awareness.

MICAT 2025 Eligibility Criteria
Candidates would need to meet specific parameters to appear for the exam. Therefore, it is essential for the candidates to check the eligibility criteria before they apply for the entrance examination. The admission committee of MICA may cancel the candidate’s admission at the later stage if they find out the candidate doesn’t meet the specified eligibility criteria. Therefore, it must be carefully noted that the candidate should meet the eligibility criteria.
The critical points of the eligibility criteria are: –
- Candidates should have a valid score in one of the qualifying examinations namely CAT 2024, XAT 2025 or GMAT (2024 onwards).
- Earlier the MICA decided that candidates with below 90 percentiles in CAT exams are not eligible for MICA admission but later they changed and there is no specific cut off for CAT exam, but the candidate should have cleared it.
- CAT is considered as the eligibility criteria because it is a government mandate that the student should appear for the registered exams like CAT, GMAT, SNAP, etc.
- However, candidates stand a chance to get the spot offer if the candidate is among the top 10 percent of the candidates based on their performance in CAT/XAT/GMAT out of all the candidates who appear in MICAT.
- Candidate must have completed the bachelor’s degree from a recognised university or by the association of Indian Universities.
- Candidate should have completed a minimum of 15 years of education 10+2+3 format.
- Candidates appearing in the final semester of graduation can also apply for the MICA admission process. But they will have to submit the certificate later during the admission process.
- Foreign Nationals and NRI category candidates are eligible only if they have valid scores in GMAT/CAT/XAT along with a valid foreign passport.
- General candidates should have obtained an aggregate of 50% in bachelor’s degree, and reserved candidates must achieve 45% in bachelor’s degree.
- There is no age bar for candidates appearing in the online entrance examination.
- Apart from the educational qualifications, candidates who demonstrate the aptitude for expressing, assessing, and conceiving ideas that make people go-getters and achieve the business results will have more chances of getting shortlisted.
- MICA doesn’t have any reservation policy, so for the admission in MICA, the candidate should clear the MICA admission selection process.
- The validity of MICAT entrance exam is for the current year only. Therefore, if the candidate is unable to take the admission in the current year, then the candidate should give the entrance exam again.
MICAT 2025 Registration
Mudra Institute of Communications, Ahmedabad, has opened the MICAT 2 registrations. Candidates could apply for the second phase of the MICAT exam up until the deadline. The registration process for Phase 2 is similar to the one used in Phase 1. Those who applied for MICAT I will find some of their details pre-filled during the MICAT II registration.
MICA Ahmedabad releases the MICAT registration forms separately for each exam phase. The MICAT 2025 application requires candidates to provide personal, academic, and work experience details. MICAT Registration Schedule 2025
MICA will conduct the MICAT 2025 exam in two phases, with separate registration processes for each. As a result, the registration schedules for the two phases differ. Candidates can apply for MICAT II once the registration for the first phase has concluded.
How to Apply for the MICAT II Exam 2025?
To apply for the MICAT II exam, candidates should follow the steps below:
- Visit the official MICA Ahmedabad website and click on “Apply Now.”
- Fill in the required details and carefully read the terms and conditions.
- Click on the “I Agree” button to accept the terms and conditions.
- After submitting, a MICA ID and password will be sent to your registered email and via SMS.
- A new window will open. Click on “Go to Application Form” in the top-right corner to proceed.
- Enter personal details, including your parents’ details (date of birth, gender, nationality, marital status, etc.).
- Upload your photograph and signature (JPEG or GIF format; file size not exceeding 80 KB).
- Fill in your academic and professional experience details.
- Select the exam (CAT, XAT, or GMAT) and enter the scores if applicable.

The time management is the biggest challenge in MICAT entrance examination. The MICAT exam has three parts, and each part has its own rules for marking. There’s no penalty for wrong answers in the first two sections. But in the third section, if you get an answer wrong, you lose a quarter of a mark. So, it’s best to only answer questions in the third part if you’re sure of the answer. MICAT 2025 Admit Card
Mudra Institute of Communications, Ahmedabad, has released the MICAT Phase 2 admit card as per the schedule. Candidates were able to download their MICAT 2 admit card through the applicant login available on the official website, mica.ac.in, until the exam date. Since MICA conducts MICAT in two phases, the admit card for each phase is issued separately. All candidates who applied for the MICAT 2 exam have been provided with the admit card.
Candidates must bring a printed copy of the MICAT hall ticket on the exam day. Failure to do so will result in being denied entry to the exam hall.

- Enter your user ID
- Provide your password
- Click the ‘submit’ button
- The MICAT II scorecard will be displayed on the screen

MICAT 2025: How the GE-PI Shortlist is Prepared
- The MICAT Psychometric Test is a qualifier; candidates must pass this test to be eligible for the GE/PI shortlist.
- After passing the Psychometric Test, candidates are assessed on:
- Verbal Ability (VA)
- Quantitative Ability (QA)
- General Awareness (GA)
- Divergent-Convergent Reasoning (DCR)
- Candidates who meet the minimum cutoff in Section B will be evaluated based on their performance in Section C (Descriptive Test).
- Those who qualify Section C will be considered for shortlisting for GE and PI.
MICAT Cutoff
The cut off the entrance examination is the minimum marks which the candidate must score to be eligible to participate in the next round. There are certain parameters which are generally taken into the account while determining the final cut off and they are the total number of candidates who appeared for MICAT, difficulty level of the exam; past year cut off trends and other vital things. In the previous season, many test-takers scoring between 58-66/105 failed for the second round as they had not cleared the Psychometric test, while someone clearing the Psychometric Test and scoring as low as 49/105 received a call for the Personal Interview: –
MICAT 2025 Cut off
The MICAT 2025 Cut Off represents the minimum qualifying marks required by candidates in each section to proceed to the next round of selection. Although the official MICAT cutoff is not disclosed by the authorities, any updates will be provided here. In 2018, out of a total of 4,453 candidates, 3,908 appeared for the MICAT.
MICA does not publish an official cutoff list for admission to PGDM-C. Candidates who do not meet the minimum cutoff criteria are not selected for further stages of the MICAT Selection Process.
