The Mumbai based SP Jain Institute of Management & Research (SPJIMR) reported 100 percent placement during ALP (Application of Learning Programme) placements for the fifth batch of its one year Post Graduate Programme in Management (PGPM). The Class of 2009 comprises of 55 participants who have an average work experience of approximately six years.

The companies which hired participants for the ALP programme were Agility Logistics, Aqua MCG, BAeHAL, Conjoin Group, Frost & Sullivan, IDFC, ITC, John Deere, KPIT Cummins, KPMG, L&T; HED, L&T; Infotech, Loop Mobile, Mobisoc, OTIS, Pricewaterhouse Coopers, Siemens, Spanco Telesystems, Spice Digital & Zycus. The placement process saw offers from traditional sectors such as Information technology, telecom, finance and marketing etc. as well as emerging sectors such as corporate strategy, project finance and supply chain.

Consulting, market research, marketing & finance were some of the areas in which the participants got their projects. Consulting Assignments which generated the maximum number of offers had various roles attached to it; some of the prominent ones being IT consulting, supply chain consulting, management consulting and logistics consulting.

Five Students secured international ALP projects in association with Reutlingen University in Germany.

What is ALP?

ALP Application of Learning in the curriculum of PGPM aims to strengthen the industry-academia relationship. As part of ALP, participants undertake full time projects at company premises for a period of six weeks starting 24th August 2009. During this period, the participants take up projects and companies can leverage on the experience of participants across diverse domains. At the end of the term, the candidates present a report to the company. The project is also evaluated by the institute.
