Indian Institute of Management, Kozhikode is a leading business school of India. As per latest reports, the Indian Institute of Management Kozhikode (IIM-K) has entered into a collaboration with the reputed Brunel University of London. As per the latest press release, both the educational institutions signed a memorandum of understanding wherein they will collaborate in fields of education and research.
The aforementioned MoU was signed on 18th November 2019 with the signatories being Prof. Debashis Chatterjee, Director of Indian Institute of Management, Kozhikode, and Professor Rebecca Lingwood, provost, Brunel University. A three-member faculty team was representing Brunel University, i.e. Dr Claire Donavan, Dr Monomita Nandy, and Dr David Sarpong. During their three days stay in India, the three-member team also attended a meeting with the faculty members of Indian Institute of Management, Kozhikode.
The faculty was represented by Prof. Deepa Sethi, Chairperson, International Relations and Faculty in the area of Humanities & Liberal Arts in Management and Prof. Rudra Sensarma, Dean (Research, Innovations and Internationalisation)
The Memorandum of Understanding will be valid for a period of three years. The main purpose of the aforementioned memorandum of understanding is to promote international co-operation as well as promote the advancement of international understanding between the Indian Institute of Management, Kozhikode and Brunel University, London.
Moreover, the memorandum of understanding envisages collaboration in the field of research for the areas in which both the institutions share a mutual interest; exchange of faculty, scholars and students; sponsoring of workshops and seminars along with development of training programs as well as their delivery.
On this occasion, Prof. Debashis Chatterjee, Director of Indian Institute of Management, Kozhikode, said that “Collaborations with universities of repute is always a win-win situation where we mutually benefit in terms of sharing knowledge, expertise and skills. The collaboration between IIM Kozhikode and Brunel University, London aims at maintaining excellence in areas of research, teaching and consulting.”
Dr Monomita Nandy, who was representing Brunel University, said “Brunel University, London is happy to join hands with IIM Kozhikode. Together, the two institutions will endeavour to make a difference by providing the faculty, scholars/students and researchers a unique experience with a cross-cultural flavour.”
