The Railway Recruitment Board conducts the Non-Technical Popular Category examination every year. The examinations registration has begun on the 1st of March 2019, and it ended on March 31st 2019.
An official notification regarding the Non-Technical Popular Category examination was released in the official website of the Railway Recruitment Board stating that the examination will be held between June 2019 and September 2019.
An official notification has been released on November 14, 2019 that the date of the examination has been postponed. The official notification regarding the date of the exam will be released in a short period of time by the Railway Recruitment Board.

The admit card will be released 10 days prior to the dates of the Non-Technical Popular Category Examination. All the details about the examination will be released on the official website of the Railway Recruitment Board, and the candidates should make sure to check the website from time to time in order to not miss any information regarding the NTPC exams.
Stage 1 Examination:
The stage 1 exam of the Non-technical popular category exam is an online computer-based examination. The exam will be conducted for a total of 100 marks, and the duration of the examination will be for 90 minutes. Each question carries 1 mark, and no negative markings will be given for the wrong answers.
The exam will be divided into 3 parts.
- Mathematics
- General Reasoning and General Intelligence
- General Awareness
The 1st part mathematics will be for 30 marks. The 2nd part, General Intelligence and General Reasoning, will be for a total of 30 marks. Part 3 of the stage 1 examination is general knowledge, and it will be for a total of 40 marks.
