Staff Selection Commission has issued the notification for the Combined Graduate Level Examination (CGL) 2019 tier-I exam on October 22 on its official website and also informed that the registration link will remain open till November 25 later that no application will be accepted.
The exam shall recruit various departments in the government of India and conducted in computer-based from March 2 to 11, 2020, as per the official notification. Around, 20-30 lakh candidates will apply for the SSC CGL every year and the count doubles with every coming year. Even Last year, there were around a total of 25.97 lakh candidates registered for the exam, in which only 8.37 lakh appeared.

Age Criteria:
The age criteria are the candidate has been lowered to 18 years 2018 onwards. Before the minimum age limit for recruitment, the test was used to be 20 years. The move is suspected to be implemented this year as well. However, the eligibility will be cleared once the official website will showcase the notification.

Education Qualification:
The candidates who have passed their graduation level (any course) of education from a recognized institute shall appear for the recruitment exam.
Exam pattern:
The examination will have a total of 100 questions carrying two marks and a negative 0.50 marks for every wrong answer. All the sections shall be arranged in the ascending order starting with reasoning and ended with English. Those who clear the SSC CGL 2019 Tier I exam will have to appear for tier-II, tier-III and skill tests.
The four papers include:
- Paper- I will be Quantitative Abilities
- Paper-II will be English Language and Comprehension
- Paper III will be Statistics
- Paper-IV will be General Studies (Finance and Economics).
The students shall get 2 hours to solve each paper, and each paper will carry 200 marks.
Pay Scale:
Those who clear all the stages of the recruitment process will be hired at group B and C level posts in various government departments and organizations. The Candidates hired in group B level posts will be paid around Rs 9,300 – Rs 34,800 and those hired in group C level posts will get Rs 5,200 to Rs 20,200.
