Among many important competitive exams, the IIFT exam is one of the top listed tests. The IIFT exam is a national exam conducted by the Indian Institute of Foreign Trade New Delhi. One can be admitted in their MBA or IB course through this exam. The exam offers admission to the two campuses, New Delhi and Kolkata. The candidates are offered 600 seats. Students have been working rigorously hard for this exam and now the registration date has been changed.
The registration portal for the IIFT exam has opened on 6th August 2018. And would close on 14th September 2018; giving the candidates 40 days to register for the MBA exam. Although due to the requests of students from flood affected areas, the registration end date has been increased.
- The new date when the registration portal for the IIFT exam closes is 24th September 2018, giving the students who were not able to register for the exam another 10 days.
The students can edit their application later as well. As the registration date has been extended it would be sensible to extend the application editing last date as well. The candidates can edit or change their application with the help of the password and registration number given to them by the system.
- Making any changes in the center for the written test may cause them a fixed fee amount. The facility to change the center is available till the 5th of November 2018. The candidate may be charged thousand rupees for changing the center that they had chosen earlier. The candidate is advised to visit the center a day before the exam to avoid getting lost or getting late for the exam.
- The date for releasing the admit card has not changed yet and it will still be released at 16 of November 2018. The candidates are informed and advised to download their admit card and take a print out of the admit card with them for the examination. The aspirants need to carry the admit card with them along with a government identity proof. The aspirant will not be allowed in the examination hall and will not be allowed to give the exam if they do not carry their admit cards with them to the examination center.
The exam to gain a seat in the Indian Institute of Foreign Trade MBA has six sections and one needs to pass all these sections to get the opportunity of being called for the written ability test, personal interview and the group discussion. If the candidate succeeds in giving a good impression to the interviewers and if they are impressed by the performance of the candidate in the IIFT test and the selection process the candidate will be chosen for the batch of 2019-21 in New Delhi or Kolkata.
In the selection process some importance is also given to the past performances of the candidate in their school and graduation college. One does not need to score very high in college, but one should have an improvement as the ear goes by. Hard work and improvement will help impress the interviewers and will increase the chance of the candidate getting admitted in the desired university for the course of MBA.
There are around 220 seats in IIFT New Delhi and 20 seats in IIFT Kolkata. Candidates will have to work harder than usual to get into any of the said two campuses. Since the day of registration has increased the candidates have more time to work hard and decide what they want and why they want it. The candidate will need to practice many mock tests and if possible then past year paper to get the rough idea of the style and pattern of the questions that are asked in the exam. Practicing the old papers and mock tests gives a rough layout of what the paper looks like and this avoids the candidate from getting caught off guard during the examination.
