When is the refund coming?? Been almost 50 days since I applied.. Kab aayega bhai?? Someone had said all refunds will be processed by May.. Abhi tak to kuch bhi nahi hua..

Its not only the perception of people that determines a B-School ranking, rather, there are numerous other factors that are taken into consideration. Some of these factors which people often miss out (u guys will understand their importance once u enter into any B-School) are:
1. Qlty of student life, on-campus activities, off-the-class learnings
2. Quality of faculty, choice of electives avlbl to students in 2nd yr
3. Intellectual capital- faculty publications in international journals of repute, students participation and wins in national level b-sch comptns, corp comptns
4. Performance of passed out students (taken randomly, donno how it is measured)
5. Industry interface- live projects from corp houses, mdp, etc

The idea is holistic development of a student, and not just d placements. And if u read the full report of the published ranking, then u will get to know on what params ximb has been ranked high, and I believe them to be fairly true.

Ofcourse, IIM L and FMS are notable misses, probab they didnt participate in d survey (for reasons best known to them).

By no means I want to demean any of the other b-schools, but its a fact that one of the IIMs cud not achieve 100% placements (owing to d large batch size) this yr, and sp jain, probab ranked low on pt 1 mentioned above.

'm sure once u guys enter, a lot of myths will be broken..!

Ya but its a well known fact that XIMB, unlike some colleges, does not pay for college rankings.. However the problem with this ranking is that FMS is missing and some IIM's and the likes of SP Jain have been moved to League 2..
Anyway, we shouldn't discuss rankings any more and litter this thread.. Read it and be happy

Ya there were a couple of hotels with direct view of Himalayas but I guess they would be very costly.. Plus its just 1 place and its better to take a cab for a day and come back by evening to see the sunset from Mussorie :)
BTW, I didn't get a chance but do find out staying in the Pizza place near TV tower.. Its completely secluded, has a direct view to Himalayas and per day rate is around 3k as far as I remember.. Anyway we are going too much off topic.. Just go there.. You will have an amazing time and of course you have read the book also now

This might be a little but can someone please suggest me a good library in Mumbai? some place where I can find brilliant collection of books, not just the bestsellers and hot cakes of the market.

Mumbai is heaven for book lovers who want books for cheap :)
Depends on where you stay.. I stay in Powai and out here there are 3 good libraries.. There is Just Books which has an amazing collection with a pretty decent membership fee.. Then there is one beside naturals and it also has a branch in Chandivili.. I find their collection decent..
Just books also has other outlets.. Check out- JustBooksclc - Rent, Read, Return. | Network of libraries to read your favourite books.
And you of course have the option of buying books road sie.. Matunga has many such outlets and you can visit there one weekend in case you are not getting your desired book in your road side stall.. They also take back the book after you read it and pay you some amount..

I'm planning to visit Mussoorie this summer I have no intention on passing my time on the mall, neck to neck with the summer tourist crowd (Most of Delhi is there, as you folks may be knowing). Offtopic..Couldn't control myself after reading the word 'Mussorie':
I had visited Mussorie during January and it instantly featured in one of my favorite places.. It was completely deserted and I had an amazing time there.. The walk to Lal Tibba lined with mortuary and some amazing houses covered with snow was just breathtaking.. It was so cold that even the mud had frozen.. I cannot imagine the serene place being crowded..
Listen to the whirring breeze with the Himalayas in sight and your sense of touch absolutely numb..
Mussorie is more about these experiences than the Mall road.. Do visit Dhanlauti and stop your vehicle many times on the road and walk off to unexplored hills and shout your lungs out to the hardly visible highway.. And ya not to forget the amazing Pizza just below the TV tower.. Its an amazing place and should be visited during winter

Followed up with the following email on May 26 as I hadn't received any reply:

I reiterate that I would like to be eligible for admission to PGDM (Finance) or PGDM (IB), the only two courses I had applied for. I also repeat for clarification that I had not applied for PGDM (DCP) which you have offered to me.

Well, as per the email I had received from Dr A M Sherry, I was supposed to pay first instalment on or before 28th May. It's 29th and I have still not received any reply whatsoever from IMT. I don't think IMT is being fair or transparent in its admission process this year.

As far as I know, yours is not the only case.. Many people have been offered courses which they didn't choose.. Anyway as of now, you have already missed the deadline for paying for DCP.. So just wait for the waiting list to clear up.. You won't get a reply after sending a mail.. Call up the help desk and see if something works out..

Seriously, this concept of notice period is not the most bogus ever.. People opting for HR may you do something in the company you are joining.. We are getting paid for doing nothing.. Sheer waste of time, resource and money..
And seriously hats off to the patience of waitlisters.. You will get through and we are going to have an amazing time in XIMB.. People who attended Sanidhya can vouch for it
